Thing 11- Content
For this module, I learned a lot about some audio and video resources that I can use in my classroom. There are so many audio and video resources out there that are very beneficial for teachers.
PBS learning media is a great resource that I can see myself using in my classroom. After exploring it a little bit, I found some great video resources that you can filter by specific content, grade range, and type of video/audio you wish to show. The videos that are located on this website are not only extremely informative for me as a teacher, but also appropriate to use for my class. I would love to use this resource in my classroom, as well as recommend it to any fellow teacher.

Gooru is another great resource for teachers that allows teachers to create a virtual classroom and upload audio and visual resources to share with their students. The website allows you to create and name your own classroom and add assignments, assessments, content, and other features to share virtually.

YouTube and SchoolTube are two other great resources to find videos for a classroom. The videos that are found on SchoolTube are very appropriate and professional and are often added and created by teachers themselves. I will definitely use YouTube and SchoolTube when I need to use a video in my classroom. If I were teaching an activity about Lions, and wanted to show a visual of lions running and have students be able to hear the actual sound that lions make I could use both of these resources to find videos.
The YouTube screenshot shows a documentary about lions that I could use in my classroom, while the the SchoolTube screen shows a children's storybook about Lions read out loud while the reader shows the pictures and the words are displayed across the screen. Both of these would be great resources I could use in a classroom, both upper and lower elementary school students. Teacher Tube is another great video and audio resource that I can use in my classroom. It is very similar to SchoolTube and YouTube. http://www.teachertube.com/ http://www.schooltube.com/ https://www.youtube.com/ |
