Thing 13- Digital Images
In this technology module, I began by creating a virtual avatar of myself using the Voki website. I was able to customize the avatar to make it look like me and I could type a message for it to talk as well as record my voice! My voice recording for my avatar read, "Hi my name is Ms. Jones and I am so excited to begin this school year! It should be a very exciting journey and I know we are going to have a great year." Unfortunately my compute does not have to software equip for downloading my avatar and the audio recording. However, I do think that Voki is a great resource for me to use in the classroom and to help create an online presence for my students. Below is a screenshot of the avatar that I created as well as the Voki digital classroom homepage.
Next, I was able to edit photos from my image library using a free photo editing program called FotoFlexer. It was a very user friendly program that allowed me to edit photos by changing the color theme, adding stickers or texts, and even resizing or reorienting pictures. The program features a wide variety of many other photo editing options, including basic editing, special effects, decorations. Here is a screenshot of the site with one of the pictures that I was adding words to.
Lastly, I created a slideshow using an online program called PhotoPeach. PhotoPeach is a great resource for making slideshows with photos from my computer or ones found online. Here is the link to my slideshow about alternative breaks and several screenshots of the website and the slideshow. I think this is a great resource that I can definitely use in my classroom one day.
