Thing 5- Collaboration
In this module I learned about several different types of online collaboration resources. These resources will allow me as a teacher to work with others in the virtual world. These programs help people collaborate on projects and combine work and ideas at different times and from different places. I first created a Google Drive Document and shared it with my professor and one of my classmates. The document was a literature unit plan for the book Hatchet that includes cross-curricular lessons from science to social studies. My classmate and I both contributed to the document via Google drive and were able to add to it even from separate locations. Each person that I share the document with can view each page and also edit it and make comments to it. This allows me to receive feedback and instruction as well as share and combine ideas with others. Here are pictures of my Google Drive Document and how you can share it with anyone by email.
The next thing I created was a Doodle account. Doodle is a great program that allows you to schedule an event or conduct a survey and then invite those who you want to participate. I scheduled an event called "Fun Meeting Yay" as an example proposal and I was able to invite others to the event through email, and as for their availability. This program can help coordinate schedules because the people you invite can put in a time when they are available. Here is a picture of my event with the scheduled times, and when the people can go.
Lino is another great online service for collaborative working with others. I created an account for myself and it acts like an online bulletin board where you and others can add notes. You can post to-do lists, ideas, memos, and pictures anywhere on a canvas. You can share your notes/canvas with others too. Here is a picture of the Lino I made.
All of these online services are great for working collaboratively with others, and are all helpful with organizing ideas.
